Kompany's side started on a good note as Michael Olise and Kane registered two goals before the team unexpectedly shut off and conceded two back-to-back goals by Wehen's Fatih Kaya. It was Kane's decisive goal in the dying minutes that clinched the victory for Bayern. In a post-match interview, the Bayern coach says the team had a 'blackout' and distanced himself from speaking on the team's shaky performance.

Despite the team switching off in the 60th minute and conceding two goals, the Belgian coach remained unbothered and considers it to be normal given his 25 years of experience in cup matches. The ex-Burnley coach instead focused on the team's resilience, calmness and the ability to asses the game situation. The manager further stated that they are happy to make it to the next stage.

Speaking in the post-match interview about the team's display, the Bayern head coach said: "At some point we had a blackout; it happened very quickly. I've been involved in cup matches for over 25 years, and that happens sometimes. It was a real cup match.
